Luci could barely see what was happening, but she could see it nonetheless. The primary thought going through her mind was to remain as quiet and motionless as possible, lest she grab the attention of the Benefactors. Their slurping, crunching, squealing, and grumbling wasn't exactly music to her ears, but the sound stopped altogether. She couldn't understand why, but after being startled by another shift in weight, she realized that the OTech ship's dome had closed, and the transport was again lifting into the ecliptic sky.
When the OTech ship cleared the height of the Benefactors, Luci continued to hold her breath for fear that they might change their minds, but when the stars blinked back into existence and she became weightless, Luci finally let out a sigh of relief and passed out.
Lumina let her rest, and working together with Prophet's sophisticated adaptive software, they took control of the OTech systems and began methodically mapping the stars and searching for anything that looks like home.
